Agent Fleet

For teams past their first agent

Run an open-source agent fleet you can audit

The open-source CompanyOS

An agent fleet is several agents run as one unit, sharing a policy, a record of who approved what, and an owner. Kortix is the open-source CompanyOS: your agents, skills, memory, and connectors in one repo you own.

Every action is recorded · Self-host, VPC, or on-prem · Any model, your keys

Fleets at work, and what each one hands back

Three fleets and the artifact each one leaves for a person to check. The numbers are illustration.

Support

Sorts the queue before standup.

The fleet reads every open thread, tags it and drafts a reply; a person approves each send.

Finance

Matches invoices to the ledger.

It reads each invoice, matches it to the purchase order and flags the lines that disagree.

Engineering

Fixes the failing check, then waits.

It reproduces the error on its own cloud computer, writes the fix and opens a change request with the test output attached.

What a fleet needs, and what each option gives you

Kortix keeps the registry and the policy as files in a repo the company owns; each column shows where the other options put them.

Agent registry

KortixFiles in one git repo you own
LangSmith FleetBuilt and stored inside Fleet's hosted builder
FleetQRows in FleetQ's database, built in its visual editor
Acuity Agent FleetConfigured by Acuity inside its product

Policy and approvals

KortixAllow, ask or block, per exact action
LangSmith FleetTool-level approval requirements, one central agent inbox
FleetQPer-tier risk policy: auto, ask or reject
Acuity Agent FleetAcuity sets the steps, with human oversight

Audit record

KortixEvery action is recorded
LangSmith FleetEvery run traced in LangSmith
FleetQAudit trail attached to each governed action
Acuity Agent FleetTracks outcomes and maintains governance

Self-hosting or own infrastructure

KortixCloud, your VPC, or your on-prem network
LangSmith FleetHosted SaaS; Enterprise runs on your Kubernetes cluster
FleetQSelf-hosted on Docker Compose, or FleetQ Cloud
Acuity Agent FleetVendor-hosted, managed by Acuity

LangSmith FleetNo
FleetQYes, AGPL-3.0
Acuity Agent FleetNo

Each rival column states what that product documents on its own page, checked November 2026.

The fleet record is a repo you own

Open source here means the registry, the policy and the memory are files a person can read, diff and review.

  • repo: A project is one git repo. Its agents, skills, memory and connector settings are files in that repo.
  • policy: Every key is optional. No tool call of this agent waits for a person: an omitted permission is allow.
  • approval: An approval covers one exact action. A changed detail needs a new approval.
  • host: Run the same Kortix on your own box. One Docker Compose stack, the same images the managed cloud runs, with your Postgres database and the stack's file storage on disk you control.
  • model: Any model provider with your own keys.

What people ask about agent fleets

Short answers to the questions teams ask before they install a fleet.

What is agent fleet?
An agent fleet is several AI agents run together under one owner, one policy and one record of what each agent did. The fleet is the unit you govern, not any single agent.
What does a fleet service agent do?
A fleet service agent keeps a group of vehicles or machines serviced and on the road. An AI agent fleet is a different thing: software agents that share a policy and a record.
What exactly is fleet?
Fleet is a word for a group managed as one unit: vehicles, laptops, or AI agents. Here it means the AI agents a company runs together, with an owner for each and one shared record of their actions.
Who are the big 4 AI agents?
There is no fixed big four. Teams most often start from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, and each can run alone or as one agent in a fleet that shares a policy and an audit record.

Start with one agent, then govern the fleet.

Write the permission down before the second agent arrives.
